The Southern California Conference recognizes the financial strain that work restrictions have placed on many people throughout the conference as a result of COVID-19 shelter-in-place recommendations. The SCC Adventist Community Services team has created a growing list of available resources throughout L.A. County that are meeting critical needs. You can find those resources here.
In addition, in an effort to provide financial assistance to those most in need, the Southern California Conference would like to ask you to partner with us as, together, we grow a financial assistance fund that will help those who need it most at this critical time. If you would like to help, you can donate using the form below. 100% of donations will go directly to people in need.
This relief fund is intended to assist church members who can demonstrate that, as a direct result of COVID-19, they have experienced a loss of income from the following:
- Job loss
- Job furlough
- Reduced work hours
The local church will receive the application along with supporting documentation and submit the complete package to the Southern California Conference by May 25, 2020. Any approved funding will be sent to the local church to distribute to the approved applicants, as funds are available. The maximum amount given per applicant will be $300, and we will accept no more than 5 requests per church.
The funds are to be distributed to those most in need as funds become available. We want to help cover food, medications, utilities, transportation, essential home goods, to stay current with rent or mortgage or to cover an unexpected emergency during these uncertain times. Applications can be submitted here.
Click through to the donation form and look for the "SCC COVID-19 Relief Fund" on the envelope.
